Lake Country Amateur Radio Service (LCARS) members conduct various activities throughout the year. Our annual signature event is participating in the annual ARRL Field Day during the last weekend in June. Other LCARS activities include:

  • Amateur Radio Classes
  • Boy Scouts of America Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) Participation
  • SKYWARN Storm Spotting
  • Community Support

LCARS members are available to speak to local service organizations and interested volunteer groups. These presentations are free. If you are interested in obtaining a speaker for a future meeting, please contact the club president at:

Lake Country Amateur Radio Service Meets at Brian's Steak House

Brians Sign
  • Date: Second Saturday of each month.
  • Time: 9:00 am and normally lasts about 90 minutes.
  • Location: Brian's Steak House 625 E. Atlantic St. in South Hill, VA. Meetings are held in a banquet room.
  • Directions: Your door to door directions are available here.
  • Meeting Format: This is a breakfast meeting and social gathering. Breakfast is dutch-treat and optional for attendees. After a short business meeting, a training topic or other program may be provided.

Meetings are open to all individuals with an interest in amateur radio and associated hobbies. You do not have to be a member to attend, and visitors are always welcome. We hope to see you soon.
